Paleokastritsa is the most famous area in Corfu, maybe in Greece, it is situated in the south west part of the island, and the distance from the airport is only 25 km. The whole area is fully covered by olive and cypress trees and the mountains are ending in amazing gulves with isolated beaches. The are 6 beaches that can be reached by feet, and about 12 more that can only be reached by boat. Paleokastritsa offers everything one can ask. Tavernas, shops, super markets, night clubs etc. For the religious people the Monastery is always open, so you can admire this old spot. It was built in 1225, and the endless view to the Ionian sea from the top of the hill is just amazing. In the monastery you can visit the museum and see the pictures that were handmade from the year of 1225.
In a distance less than 5 km and after the village of Lakones, there is the Bella Vista area with the breathtaking views.
